Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate Finance Writing Intern to join our content and communications team. This role is ideal for a student, recent graduate, or aspiring writer who wants hands-on experience in finance communication, digital media, and content strategy.
As a Finance Writing Intern at KoloNigeria, you will research financial topics, ideate content angles, and create educational, engaging articles, scripts, and social content for our growing audience.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidates for the Finance Writing Intern Role at KoloNigeria will:
- Research and write informative, easy-to-understand finance articles targeted at Nigerians.
- Create content on saving, budgeting, investments, fintech trends, and personal finance tips.
- Assist in scriptwriting for reels, short videos, newsletters, and campaigns.
- Simplify complex financial terms into relatable, practical insights.
- Collaborate with the content team to brainstorm content ideas and develop content calendars.
- Proofread, edit, and fact-check existing content.
- Generally Contribute to KoloNigeria’s mission of improving financial literacy nationwide.
Requirements
The ideal Finance Writing Intern should have:
- Strong writing and communications skills.
- Basic understanding of finance, savings culture, or personal finance (interest counts more than experience).
- Good research ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Creativity, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm for financial education.
- Familiarity with social media trends is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications (Not mandatory)

- Experience writing blog posts, articles, or academic essays.
- Background in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Communications, Law, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- Interest in Nigerian fintech and digital savings culture.
